At the SPRING/BREAK Art Show NYC 2020 in March, just days before the lockdown.

“Anybody that was paying attention, even vaguely, knew that something was coming.

But still, nobody wanted to take it seriously and people still wanted to push ahead. I find it interesting that we were getting these adamant messages, 'Nobody wear face masks.'

People were having ‘corona parties’ and doing stupid things like that. But immediately after that, anywhere you were in New York – and I’m in Brooklyn – it was sirens, non-stop.”

“You’re so cut off from human contact that reaching out to people feels awkward too. So, it’s easier to just not.

Or maybe that’s people just forgetting how to be human! We’re all just losing our human interacting abilities.

“If I put my head down and just quietly get back to work, then hopefully at the end of the year I’ll have a collection of large, probably complex drawings that somebody will like… I don’t know!

I like them. And I’ll have to figure out what the next steps are from there.”
